Time to Say Goodbye

I have been bouncing a thought around in my head for a while, and I thought that it would be time to execute it. Yes, it is true I am finished blogging and I am going to go ahead and delete this one. I have enjoyed everyone's blogs, but lets just face the facts; I am horrible at blogging, it just isn't my calling. To my family and friends that live out of state I do feel really bad, but its not like you were getting many updates anyways. And hey, isn't that what phones are for? So I will be better at keeping in touch with all of you personally. And to my friends and family near by at least you get to see us often enough that you are aware of how our family is. Thank you for all of the fun comments over this last little while, but it is time for me to face facts and get a better phone plan (calling is just easier for me to deal with). We will see you around or talk to you other wise.

Signing off.

Daddy In Charge

This is what happens when the dad takes care of the children. They end up holding on for dear life.

This last one is just cute. It is fun when your baby enters that stage where you aren't sure what position you will find them in after they've been sleeping.

A New Motivation

So here is a glimpse of a conversation with my self:

Yeah, Kaitlyn is born! Six weeks and I can begin to work out.
(Six weeks go by.)
You know I am just too tired to work out. I will wait until Kaitlyn sleeps all night long and then I will start.
(A couple more months go by.)
I guess I am not tired anymore so I might as well go to the clubhouse to work out.
(Then I went to Boston for 10 days.)
I am too exhausted from the trip to go work out, I will take another week off.
(And another, and another, and another, etc.)
Sunday July 19th: Announcement- "The Stake Relief Society is going to put on a 5K run on Saturday, September 26th the same day as the Relief Society General Conference."
STOP BEING LAZY SHELLY AND GO WORK OUT!

The R.S. 5K has motivated me to get back into shape. My goal is to be able to run the entire 5K without walking (I know it isn't much, but trust me when I say that I am not a runner). Also it is about time that I shed the rest of my baby weight which is left over from Hunter.

So to all of you that have the same conversations with yourselves; lets just clean the slate, start over, and I will see you at the 5K in two months (hopefully running).

Big Brother Moments and Other Cute Stuff

So It would seem a little silly to post our July 4th activities since we are close to approaching pioneer day now. So I decided to just put up some of our recent pictures just to keep everyone updated.

Hunter is starting to show a little more desire to be around his sister.

Who needs a mom or dad when big brother is willing to feed the baby.

Hunter and his little friend at a July 4th fair we attended. He wore Brian's hat most of the day and loved it.

Pony ride anyone?

Even when you provide them with a bed, they still don't want to nap in it.

Brian took this picture because he thought that Kaitlyn looked like she was praying.

Kaitlyn watching the fireworks. She only lasted five minutes before she started to cry.

This was our July 4th gang. I guess I did end up posted mostly about July 4th, but hey we had a great time. Good food and great fireworks, what else can one ask for.

Boston

My mom took me and the kids to Boston to watch my brother and his wife's kids while they were away on vacation. We were there for ten days and at the end of everyday we were exhausted, but we had a great time. So we had two three-year-olds, one eighteen-month-old and a baby. So life was crazy. We managed through without out ever having to call the pediatrician or anyone getting lost for more than a few minutes, so that was a great accomplishment. We took the kids to the park, aquarium, on the duck boat (a Boston city and river tour ride), and then the parents came home. Then we went swimming at our hotel a few times, went to Newport, RI and the kids played at the beach. It was a fun trip and Hunter got along great with his cousin Evan, and they got to know each other much more. I was awful at taking pictures because it seemed like our hands were full the whole time. My mom was good at getting pictures of all the boys together and I just got a few of some of the tourist spots.

Hutner and Evan at the aquarium, they enjoyed the sharks.

Here is caleb and Kaitlyn enjoying the ride at the aquarium.

This is where the first battle of the revolutionary war took place just outside of Concord, MA.

Grandma with Kaitlyn and Hunter at the visitor center.

What would you do if you didn't have any income tax? These mansions were just summer cottages too.

This house was bilt completely out of marble inside and out. Also the music room had 24K gold walls. This mansion was used for only three summers before Alva Vanderbelt divorced her husband William Venderbelt.

This was the largest mansion built be Corrnielus Vanderbelt. It was 138,300 square feet and its property was right on the ocean.

The plane ride home, and think we wore Hunter out.

Birthday Time

Even though Hunter's birthday was about a month ago, I going to post late anyways (what's new about that). So Hunter is now three-years-old. It seems amazing. I can't believe how old he is and also that we have two kids now. It seems as if life should be really crazy, but everything seems to be going smoothly (for the most part). Here are some of the birthday highlights. We took Hunter swimming at the rec center. Then we came home for a birthday dinner; corndogs, Hunter's favorite. Then we had a family party and opened presents and had birthday cake. though he didn't eat any cake because he was to busy playing with all of his new toys. Overall it was pretty low key, but we had a great time as a little family.

Easter

Once again we had another great Easter. Holidays are becoming more fun each year as Hunter begins to grasp them more and more. This year we spent Easter with our good friends Dave, Des and their two kids. At our house the Easter Bunny brought Hunter and Kaitlyn their Easter baskets filled with goodies and toys. Then in the afternoon we went to Dave and Des' house for an Easter feast. Afterwords, the kids dyed Easter eggs while the Easter Bunny came again and provided an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had such a great time at the cost of a cavity to come I'm sure.

Checking out the Easter basket goodies.

Kaitlyn was excited too, except she didn't care to see her basket until we put it in front of her.

Hunter was so proud of how his colored eggs turned out.

And let the hunt begin!

Look, Kaitlyn found one too!

Gage and Kylee already going to town on their candy.
